Quantitative data

Quantitative data is a collection of numbers and figures which can be verified and used for statistical analysis. Project teams can use this data to discover patterns or trends in activity or the variation of a process.

When reviewing quantitative data its important to always consider:

  • specialty variation
  • ward variation
  • clinical variation
  • day of week variation
  • time of day variation
  • trends over time
  • peak times of year. For example, winter or Christmas holidays
