NSW Health has a range of programs to improve the health and well-being of people living with severe mental illness, who have a reduced life expectancy of 14-23 years compared to the general population.
In 2023, the NSW Ministry of Health funded 3 local projects under the Physical Health and Mental Health Project Grants Program. Districts and Networks were invited to submit one proposal through an EOI process. The successful projects aim to improve physical health outcomes for mental health consumers aligned to the Physical Health Care for People Living with Mental Health Issues [GL2021_006]:
The projects will be undertaken in 2023 and evaluated.
