National Health Reform Agreement

The 2020-25 National Health Reform (NHR) Agreement sets out the shared intention of the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments to work in partnership to improve health outcomes for all Australians and ensure the sustainability of the Australian health system.

The Agreement includes a commitment by all Australian governments to a shared long-term vision for health reform, at a time when shared investment and coordination in health is vital. The reforms outlined in the Agreement aim to make it easier to provide flexible, high-quality care that meets the needs and preferences of Australians, and reduces pressure on our hospitals. The Agreement will supplement integrated care work taking place throughout NSW of reducing preventable visits to hospital through care in the community.
