The aim of this project was to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people with a brain injury by optimising access to the Mid North Coast Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (MNCBIRS) through a range of culturally appropriate strategies identified through the Dunghutti Muri Project.
By adapting the brain injury rehabilitation service to meet the needs of Aboriginal people, a culturally safe, respectful and responsive service has been established under the guidance of local Aboriginal people to encourage Aboriginal brain injury patients to access the service.
