Hospital data

​​​​​NSW Health collects data relating to hospital stays. This includes patient services provided by NSW public hospitals, public psychiatric hospitals, multi-purpose services, private hospitals and private day procedures.

This data can be used to report on a range of questions, such as:

• number of hospital admissions
• urgency of care
• average length of stay by disease condition
• trends in admitted patient activity
• performance trends of the public hospital system.
