Whether you're looking to climb the career ladder or pivot into a different role, a new position with NSW Health can give you the opportunity to leverage your existing skills and knowledge while exploring new avenues for growth and development.

Recruitment processes are regulated by the NSW Health policy directive Recruitment and Selection of Staff to the NSW Health Service. This means that while all employment opportunities across NSW Health are available on NSW Health Jobs, some of these roles are only available to internal applicants.

Build your profile

NSW Health Jobs allows you to build a personal profile with your resume and copies of your qualifications and credentials, which can be used when applying for positions.

You can create alerts, to be notified when certain positions become available.

Mandatory checks and verifications

Applying for positions as an existing staff member removes the need to redo the mandatory checks and verifications.

National Police Check (NPC)

Existing staff who are changing roles within NSW Health are not required to undergo a new National Police Check unless an NPC has not been done previously or a new check is required for the purpose of aged care work or transition arrangements for the NDIS.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

If you have a Working With Children Check from the Children’s Guardian and it has been validated by NSW Health, it does not need to be revalidated every time you change roles within NSW Health.

References

While providing a current supervisor as a referee is preferred, the recruitment panel will be flexible. Depending on the circumstances, an alternative referee such as a past supervisor or manager may be suitable.

All information provided by you as part of your application will be treated confidentially and will only be seen by NSW Health staff involved in the recruitment and selection process.
