NSW Health is committed to supporting access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable contraception methods. There is a wide range of contraception options available in NSW. Some options include:

• Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) including intra uterine devices and hormonal implants
• Oral contraceptives (the pill)
• Emergency contraceptive pill (the morning after pill)
• Condoms
• Sterilisation (permanent) – Female (tubal ligation) or Male (vasectomy)

It’s important to think about all the different types of contraception available and pick a method that best suits your needs.
