In 2021, the overall perinatal mortality rate in NSW was 8.9 deaths per 1,000 births, with higher perinatal mortality rates for babies born to women aged 12–19 years (16.1 per 1,000) than babies born to women aged 35 years and over (9.0 per 1,000) and 20–34 years (8.1 per 1,000).
