Approval to prescribe and supply Schedule 8 medicines

SafeScript NSW allows health practitioners to view approvals* issued for Schedule 8 medicines. Applications to prescribe psychostimulant medications and medicines under the Opioid Treatment Program can now be submitted and managed via SafeScript NSW.

For more information on when an approval is required, please visit NSW legal requirements for an authority/approval to prescribe drugs of addiction.

*Note: An approval issued to a prescriber by the NSW Ministry of Health is separate from the authority issued under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) to subsidise the cost of medicines for patients.
