Yes, Metropolitan services are eligible for both stream one and two funding.
The grant guidelines state that "priority will be given to NSW rural and regional locations and areas where there is an absence of existing integrated Post-Custodial Support services and/or evidence of unmet need. A local needs analysis and/or other evidence to support the need in the location should be demonstrated".
Whilst increasing services for rural and regional NSW is an objective in these grants, providing services in a metropolitan area with an absence of services and/or demonstrated unmet need is within scope, that need should be clearly evidenced in the application.
Yes, the guide states "Letter of in principle support from Justice Health NSW (Drug and Alcohol Services – Release Planning) and/or relevant private correctional centre health services if proposing to provide services to individuals in Parklea, Clarence or Junee correctional centres".
Please provide a letter of support from whichever organisation delivers healthcare at the private correctional centres you are proposing to services at, or from Justice Health if you are proposing to provide services to the public correctional centres.
If you intend to provide services to a facility providing other custodial services (such as a bail hostel or transitional housing), in-principle support from that service provider will be recognised.
