2.1 If there is $2M per annum for both streams 1 and 2 … Does that follow that there would likely really be only 2-3 successful applicants in Stream 2? Or possibly even only 1 if it was a super strong application?

With $1.2M available for Stream 2 and a minimum grant of $300,001, it is possible there will be between 1 and 4 successful applicants.

2.2 (Stream 2) If we plan to run our program in different locations, could you please advise if we need to submit an application for each location?

No. Organisations can only apply once for each stream they are eligible for. If you are proposing a program in multiple locations, these need to be part of one application.

2.3 Please could you confirm: if there is a file size limit for emailing grant applications through for lodgement? Can files, per package, be zipped for lodgement via email? and can essential supporting documents be included as attachments to Response Schedules C, E & F?

Files will need to be sent within your organisation’s email file size limitations.
Utilising zipped files may assist in reducing file sizes, this is permitted.
Attachments can be included where relevant but should not replace the Schedules

2.4 Hello, we were unable to attend the grants briefing sessions for the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Post-Custodial Support Grants. Is it possible to get a copy of the slides or a recording of the session?

Grant briefing sessions are now complete with recordings of the sessions, copy of the presentation and question and answers available on Ice Inquiry health response

2.5 I note in the Eligibility Checklist in the program guidelines the requirement for current accreditation against the NSW Health approved accreditation standards and the 4 standards listed. On the NSW Health webpage that this eligibility criteria links to, a text box at the top of the screen says "The majority of non-government organisations (NGOs) funded by NSW Health to provide alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services are required to hold current organisation accreditation against NSW Health approved health and/or community service standards for alcohol and other drug treatment services." Will any equivalency of accreditation be considered? Will AGPAL accreditation qualify us to meet the criteria?

No. AGPAL is not an approved accreditation standard for organisations funded by NSW Health to deliver alcohol and other treatment services.

Current accreditation against the NSW Health approved accreditation standards for organisations delivering AOD treatment services is required. NSW Health approved organisation accreditation standards are:

Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP)
Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS)
QIC Health and Community Service Standards
Quality Innovation Performance (QIP)
Australian Service Excellence Standards
Government of South Australia, Department for Communities and Social Inclusion

Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care

2.6 Is an organisation incorporated under any Australian law eligible to apply?

Incorporated organisations established under Australian legislation, with not-for-profit operation, are eligible to apply.

2.7 Could you please clarify any requirements regarding pre-release contact and whether this is expected to be face to face or via telehealth or under a hybrid model similar to the community delivery requirements? Is remote access possible into correctional centres within NSW for the purposes of planning pre-release?

A model of care using an element of telehealth will be considered, including for pre-release contact.

2.8 Is there any data available that provides information on the numbers of person released from each correctional centre location? Is it possible to get the numbers released by correctional centre location for 2022/23?

This data is not currently available.

One source that may be of use is the AIHW minimum data set for AOD services, specifically the source of referrals (which includes diversion and corrections).
