The artwork symbolises the partnerships between the Centre for Aboriginal Health and the Aboriginal Community-Controlled sector, and their sharing of power to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people, communities and Country.
The artwork was created by Lakkari Pitt, a proud Gamilaroi yinarr (woman) from Walgett, New South Wales. Lakkari Pitt created the artwork for the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2024-2034, and she has adapted that artwork to serve as the Centre for Aboriginal Health's unique visual identity.
While the Aboriginal Health Plan artwork represents all NSW Health organisations, Aboriginal communities and the vision of the Aboriginal Health Plan (sharing power in system reform to achieve the highest levels of health and wellbeing for Aboriginal people), the Centre for Aboriginal Health visual identity is unique to Centre for Aboriginal Health and represents Centre for Aboriginal Health’s ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people throughout NSW. It also represents our strategic positioning, building alliances with our stakeholders, influencing key health policy reform and sharing power with our partners in the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector.
