Summary
Role delineation is a planning tool used in service and capital
developments. It describes the minimum support services, workforce and other
requirements for the safe delivery of clinical services.
The aim of the NSW Health Guide to the Role Delineation of Clinical
Services is to provide a consistent language for describing clinical services.
The Guide was developed through a series of stakeholder workshops with
support from a Project Reference Group, the Ministry and Pillar agencies. It is
informed by ongoing consultation and commentary from
local health districts, specialty health networks and service providers.
The 2024 NSW Health Guide to the Role Delineation of Clinical Services
(6th edition Version 6.2) includes minor updates to the Anaesthesia and Recovery standard.
