The first meeting of the Regional Health Ministerial Advisory Panel was held on 17 October 2023 and was chaired by Dr Richard Colbran, Chief Executive Officer of NSW Rural Doctors Network.

The 10-member panel has been established to advise the Hon. Ryan Park, Minister for Health and Minister for Regional Health, and the Secretary of NSW Health on opportunities and solutions to improve healthcare and health support services in regional NSW.

Minister Park expressed his appreciation to the members to the panel for their dedication to improving health outcomes in regional NSW, and introduced the priorities he wishes the panel to explore:

  • Responding to the recommendations from the NSW Parliamentary Rural Health Inquiry
  • Strengthening the regional health workforce
  • Improving health outcomes and access to care for Aboriginal people.

The next meeting will be held on 6 November 2023.
