NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Three cases in one family previously reported as overseas acquired have been reclassified as locally acquired following transmission in hotel quarantine.
Six new cases were acquired overseas to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,187.
There were 8,088 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 8,763.
NSW Health’s vaccination clinics generally operate Monday to Friday. Therefore, there may be limited or no vaccines administered on weekend days and public holidays due to planned closures.
There were 550 COVID-19 vaccines administered by NSW Health in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. The total number of vaccines administered by NSW Health is now 173,852.

The three cases reclassified from overseas acquired to locally acquired today are a family of returned travellers. It is believed they acquired the virus during hotel quarantine from a family of four staying in an adjoining room on level 12 at the Adina Apartment Hotel, Town Hall. They share the same viral sequence.
The families arrived from different countries and on different days. The original family of cases are believed to have been infectious between Thursday 8 and Sunday 11 April. Investigations are continuing into how the transmission occurred.
All guests staying on the same floor of the hotel have been retested and returned negative results. Staff who worked on level 12 are in self-isolation and undergoing testing.
The two families were separately transferred to the Special Health Accommodation and will remain there until they are no longer infectious.
NSW Health is treating 67 COVID-19 cases, one of whom is in ICU. Most (94 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.
Testing rates have fallen in recent days. NSW Health strongly urges anyone with even the mildest of symptoms to isolate and get tested immediately.
