NSW Health is directing everyone who attended the Thai Rock Restaurant at Potts Point for two hours or more between Wednesday, 15 July and Saturday, 25 July to immediately be tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days since they were last there, regardless of symptoms.

Anyone who attended Thai Rock Potts Point for less than two hours on these dates should monitor for symptoms and immediately isolate and seek testing if they appear.

This new advice follows investigation into a case announced last week who had reported attending Thai Rock Potts Point on Friday, 17 July.

A staff member at the restaurant has now tested positive, and the venue has been closed for cleaning. Investigations into the source of the infection and contact tracing are under way.

The Thai Rock Potts Point has the same owners as Thai Rock Wetherill Park, which has now been linked to 67 cases of COVID, but investigations to date have not identified links between cases at the two sites.

If you are directed to isolate, you must remain in isolation for a full 14 days even if your initial test is negative. If you do develop COVID-19 symptoms, you should be retested, even if you have had a negative result previously.

Anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – is urged to self-isolate and seek testing. Do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19.

In addition, a couple who were reported with COVID yesterday attended two restaurants while infectious: An Restaurant Bankstown on 23 July, from 9-11am, and Tan Viet Noodle House (AKA Crispy Chicken Noodle House) Cabramatta on the 22 July, from 1-2pm. Anyone who attended either of these restaurants at these times should monitor for symptoms and immediately isolate and seek testing if they appear.

A child who attends Georges River Grammar School in Georges Hall has today been confirmed as having COVID-19.

The school is closed while contact tracing and cleaning are under way. The child is linked with the funeral and related church services in south-western Sydney between 16 and 19 July.

Close contacts will be notified to undertake 14-day self-isolation after their last contact with the case and undertake testing for COVID if they develop symptoms.
