Manning Hospital Stage 2 Redevelopment moves ahead

12 March 2025

Work to deliver Manning Hospital’s Stage 2 Redevelopment has taken a key step forward, with a builder appointed to deliver the enabling works to prepare the site for future construction.

The Stage 2 Redevelopment forms part of the NSW Government’s $180 million Lower Mid North Coast Health Services project which will boost health services for communities across the Myall Lakes region.

Enabling works will prepare the redevelopment site for future construction activities, which will see the demolition of the administration building and some surrounding buildings, as well as relocation of two bulk oxygen tanks.

The Stage 2 Redevelopment will deliver contemporary clinical spaces and improve connections between the new and existing areas of the hospital.

Planning and design for the Stage 2 Redevelopment is continuing and is being informed by valuable feedback from staff, stakeholders and the community.

The detailed design for the project will be displayed for community and stakeholder feedback later this year.

Builder AW Edwards has been appointed following a competitive tender process, with work expected to start on site in the coming weeks.

Construction timeframes for the main works will be confirmed once planning has been finalised.

The Lower Mid North Coast Health Services project is being delivered by Health Infrastructure NSW in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District.
