Bulli Hospital staff parking zone now open

22 November 2024

Bulli Hospital staff now have access to additional car parking options closer to work, thanks to the opening of a new dedicated parking zone this week.

Located 200 metres from the hospital building, the new parking zone has 17 spaces available and is accessible by staff who work at Bulli Hospital.

Transport for NSW commenced work in August to transform the section of land at the intersection of Memorial Drive and the Princes Highway into the temporary parking zone, which is free of charge for staff.

The work included removing vegetation, constructing new pavement, widening the existing driveway and installing a boom gate, lights, signs, line-marking and fencing.

This new parking solution for staff is in addition to the options already in place including an expanded free on-demand shuttle bus service, extra spaces at the Bulli Ambulance station, and timed parking on Hospital Road.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Health Ryan Park:

“The NSW Government is committed to ensuring our health staff working at Bulli Hospital have access to convenient and secure parking options.

“We know that parking on Hospital Road has been challenging, and thanks to this collaborative approach with Transport for NSW, we have delivered another practical solution that will ease congestion, particularly during the peak morning period.”

Quotes attributable to Member for Heathcote Maryanne Stuart:

“From day one the Minns Labor Government has worked on solutions to this issue of parking access inherited from the former Coalition Government.

“From timed parking being introduced in Hospital Road, additional car spaces built in the Ambulance station, to a free shuttle bus for staff, patients and visitors to now this new carpark built for hospital staff.

“I thank the Minister for Health, the Minister for Roads, Transport for NSW and Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District for their commitment to address this issue.”
