The NSW Government is pleased to announce the $165 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service redevelopment is now complete, delivering enhanced healthcare for communities across the Goulburn region.

The redevelopment has delivered a modern, fit-for-purpose health facility to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare for the Goulburn community now and into the future.

The redeveloped health facility features a new emergency department, intensive care unit, medical imaging department and the latest digital theatres, servicing people across the region.
In addition to the new state-of-the-art Clinical Services Building, the redevelopment includes a refurbishment of areas within the original hospital, transition of services into new spaces, new car parking and landscaping.

With work in the original hospital complete, patients can access a range of improved services for Ambulatory Outpatients, Cancer Care, Aboriginal Health, and Pathology Collections, in upgraded and modern facilities.

Services have been relocated from Bourke Street Health Service to the Goulburn Hospital Campus, to make it easier for the community to access the health services they need in one location.

The Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park launched the new much needed MRI service at the Goulburn hospital in May last year, allowing for access to critical diagnostic imaging services closer to home.

MRI scans help to diagnose a range of conditions that other diagnostic scans cannot. It is especially useful for soft tissue scans and is important for the planning and management of cancer treatments.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park:

“The expanded range of health services now available at Goulburn means the hospital can provide a higher level of healthcare to patients when they need it most, improving health outcomes for the people of the region.

“The completion of the project is an exciting moment in the delivery of healthcare for the people of Goulburn, representing the most significant upgrade the Goulburn Hospital has seen in its remarkable 130-year history.”

Quotes attributable to Government Spokesperson for Goulburn Bob Nanva MLC:

“I’d like to thank everyone involved in this significant redevelopment, which has been made possible by the contribution and dedication of clinicians, staff, the project team, and community.”
