Frontline emergency care across the NSW Mid North Coast will be boosted with the official opening of the new Coffs Harbour Ambulance Station.

Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park was joined by NSW Ambulance paramedics, their families and community members to mark the official opening of the new ambulance station.

Mr Park said the purpose-built health facility was designed to ensure paramedics could continue providing high quality emergency care throughout the region.

“This new ambulance station is providing our paramedics with enhanced facilities and equipment to ensure they can meet the current and future demand for mobile emergency medical care in Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas,” Mr Park said.

"We’re committed to investing in health infrastructure that supports better health outcomes for rural and regional communities."

The new station includes internal parking for up to 12 emergency ambulance vehicles, administration and office areas, staff amenities, logistics and storage areas, an internal wash bay and a Medic Fit gym.

Coffs Harbour Ambulance Station has also been fitted with a solar powered energy system, which enables battery storage and an emergency power source for essential building services such as lighting and roller doors.

NSW Ambulance Assistant Commissioner Paula Sinclair said paramedics were excited to be operating out of a new high-quality base.

“This new facility will not only provide a more comfortable working environment for paramedics, but allow for enhanced training and development,” Ms Sinclair said.

The new station on Marcia Street will replace the existing station at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

The state-of-the-art facility has been delivered as part of the $232 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration program.
