There are currently 47 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, and none are in intensive care. In NSW, 2,766 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Of the nine new cases today, eight are returned travellers in hotel quarantine.

The ninth case is a female teacher at Laguna Street Public School in Caringbah. The school will cease on-site learning until 24 June, as all students have been identified as close contacts and should self‑isolate. Investigations as to the source of the infection are ongoing.

NSW Health is contacting the families of all children enrolled at the school as part of the contacting process, and will provide them with details about their period of isolation, check all is well, and answer any other questions they may have.

NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or has flu like symptoms to be tested at one of the COVID-19 clinics. SESLHD - COVID -19 Clinics provides a list of the locations of the clinics in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District that can conduct testing for school-aged children.

The Sutherland COVID 19 Drive-Through Testing Centre is located at Sutherland Multi-Purpose Community Centre 123 Flora St Street Sutherland. Sutherland Hospital, St George Hospital and the Hurstville Community Health Centre also have COVID clinics.

NSW Health would like to thank those with symptoms for coming forward, getting tested and ensuring cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.

The virus may still be circulating in the community. People with mild symptoms or those who show no obvious symptoms can unknowingly pass it to others.

NSW Health is urging anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – to isolate from others and get tested. This is important for everyone in the community, and we particularly urge anyone in the Sutherland Local Government Area with symptoms to come forward for testing.

With the easing of restrictions, it remains essential that everyone maintains social distancing of 1.5m and regularly washes their hands to minimise the risk of virus transmission.
