Adjunct Professor Karen Crawshaw holds a Bachelor degrees in Arts and Law, is admitted to the NSW Supreme Court and Australian High Court and holds an unrestricted practicing certificate from the NSW Law Society.
She is an experienced senior executive in government and healthcare sectors with a broad and diverse prortfolio of responsibilities and functions, including corporate and business services, governance and risk, human resources/industrial relations, legal and regulatory services. She served as NSW Health Deputy Secretary and for 17 years as General Counsel for NSW Health. She is an adjunct professor with the University of Sydney's School of Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Health and is involved in the teaching of quality and safety in health care.
Professor Crawshaw was awarded the Public Service Medal in the Australian Queens Birthday Honours in 2012 for her significant contributions to the public health sector.
