Australian Health Ministers committed to several things, among them to working towards the virtual elimination of new Australian HIV transmissions by the end of 2020. For other commitments, see:

The World Health Organization estimates that internationally 240 million people are chronically infected with hepatitis B virus and 150 million people are chronically infected with hepatitis C virus. World Hepatitis Day was 28 July 2014, with the tag line: Think Again. See:

EPA reports that Orica Australia Pty Ltd was convicted and penalised $768,250 in relation to charges for pollution incidents at Orica's Kooragang Island and Botany plants. This includes a fine of $211,750 for the pollution incident that affected residents of Stockton, Newcastle, on Monday 8 August 2011. See:
