Conditions of employment and benefits

Salaries

Executive employees are paid on a monthly basis, on or around the 15th of each month for the whole calendar month.

Hours of work

Executive employees are required to work the hours necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of their role. The total remuneration package compensates for any hours worked. For the purposes of calculated entitlements, i.e. leave, hours are based on 35 hours per week (i.e. 7 hours per day).

Employment conditions

Government Sector Employment (GSE) Act

Employment as a Public Service senior executive is subject to the provisions of the GSE Act (in particular Part 4, Division 4 "Public Service senior executives"), the GSE Regulations, and the GSE (General) Rules. Some provisions of your Contract refer to relevant sections of the GSE Act, Regulations and Rules.

You should familiarise yourself with these provisions as they contain important details about your contractual obligations. For example, Section 41 of the GSE Act sets out all the circumstances in which you would be required to repay a portion of the compensation available under clause 17.2 of the Contract.

Health Services Act and GSE Act

Employment as a Health Service senior executive, in addition to the Health Services Act and your Contract of Employment, you should also familiarise yourself with the provisions of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules 2014 and the Government Sector Employment (Health Service Senior Executive) Rules 2016 as they also contain important details about your contractual obligations.
