Gain foundational knowledge of working in the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector, to support you as you begin/enhance your career. Work alongside a variety of clients in community based organisations, outreach services, inpatient settings and residential rehabilitation services.
Students will obtain four units of competency that can be used as credit towards CHC43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.
This course is targeted to workers who are new to working in the AOD sector and would benefit from specific training on skills for assessment, intervention and review.Course code: CHCSS00093
Classes are delivered on a virtual learning platform, Microsoft Teams (Sessions 1 and 3) or as a self-paced option with fortnightly workshops (Session 2).
Course is available to all candidates interested in alcohol and other drugs. Priority may be given to areas of need and those residing in regional and rural locations
This skill set is for people working in direct client facing roles in AOD services. The course is targeted at workers who are new to working in the AOD sector and would benefit from orientation to the context of the AOD sector and specific training on skills for assessment, intervention, and review.
Learners will benefit from having digital literacy skills and be familiar with MS Teams.
