This strategy is a significant milestone for our sector. It sets a clear direction for cross-sector action and partnerships that will enhance the capacity and capability of the AOD workforce across NSW. It has been developed with the invaluable input and collaboration of a wide range of stakeholders, including NADA, and extensive consultation from the non-government AOD sector.
In addition to the AOD sector and people with lived and living experience, consultation occurred across Ministry divisions, including Regional Health, PARVAN, Office of the Chief Health Officer, Aboriginal Workforce Unit, Mental Health and Workforce Planning and Talent Development to ensure alignment and integration with existing state-level strategies and initiatives, and cross-pollination of initiatives across all workforces.
