Future Health sets a vision for the future of the health system in NSW and requires a new workforce plan to guide the next phase of workforce development.
The NSW Health Workforce Plan 2022-2032 provides a framework to guide the implementation of Future Health's workforce-related strategies across NSW Health.
The plan outlines priorites, outcomes and activities that will help ensure the NSW health system can continue to deliver high quality care to those in need. It builds on successful initiatives developed under the Health Professionals Workforce Plan 2012–2022.
To ensure the refreshed plan is evidence-based and fit for purpose, the Ministry of Health commissioned Nous Group to consult with key leaders across NSW Government and NSW Health, including local health districts, specialty health networks, agencies and frontline managers and team leaders spanning all professional clinical disciplines and networks.
The Health Professionals Workforce Plan Consultation Report summarises key system-wide issues, challenges and blockers that emerged during this consultation.
The NSW Health Workforce Plan 2022-32 Supplementary Guide supports local health districts, specialty networks and health agencies to translate system priorities from the NSW Health Workforce Plan 2022-2032 into local actions.
