The WOHP hosted its 9th Master class on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th December 2016.
Day 1 focused on a post winter review, and looked at challenges, solutions, and learning from local health districts (LHD) experiences over winter. The demand escalation framework and its implementation was discussed and perspectives from several LHD’s , NSW Ambulance and Non-Emergency Patient Transport were shared.
Discharge practices was the focus of the afternoon session. We heard from sites enrolled in the 90 Day Discharge Challenge project (90DC) and sites which are using 90DC strategies and ‘going it alone’. Discharge Processes to support Patient Flow and Access to Care were part of a panel discussion and we heard about strategies implemented that were successful, unsuccessful and pitfalls to avoid.
