This competency framework underpins the delivery of the NSW Aboriginal Population Health Training Initiative through setting objective standards for workplace learning. Importantly, the competency framework provides a common unit of analysis to review and assess trainee learning experiences across a range of work settings. The framework also supports academic learning within the Master of Public Health by facilitating the application of new knowledge and skills within the workplace. The framework is designed to be flexible and recognises that trainees work across a broad range of population health issues, community groups and settings.
