Sydney WorldPride 2023 has finished but mental health support is always here if you need it.
If you’re feeling low or distressed after Pride, please reach out to any of the supports listed below. Any of these helplines and services can provide support and advice as well as help guide you to other care options to support your mental health and wellbeing.
If you’ve noticed any friends or family that aren’t acting themselves or you see signs that they might be struggling, check in with them and remember to seek extra mental health or suicide risk support if you feel concerned.
ACON provides a range of mental health and wellbeing support resources and links to services specific to the needs of the LGBTIQ+ community.

HERE is an LGBTQIA+ suicide prevention digital hub established by ACON in partnership with NSW Health. HERE provides information on suicide and situational distress and connects people of diverse genders and sexualities and their loved ones, along with service providers in NSW, to mental health care, support and resources.
TransHub is ACON's digital information and resource platform for all trans and gender diverse people in NSW, their allies and health providers.
The Gender Centre Inc. provides a broad range of specialised services to the trans and gender diverse community in NSW.
QLife provides Australia-wide anonymous, LGBTIA+ peer support and referral for people wanting to talk about a range of issues including sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships. QLife services are free and include both telephone and webchat support, delivered by trained LGBTIA+ community members across Australia. The services are available for LGBTIA+ individuals, their friends and families and health professionals.
Lifeline is Australia’s leading suicide prevention service and provides access to free 24-hour crisis support including online counselling, video chat, text and phone services.
The Suicide Call Back Service is a free nationwide service that provides 24/7 phone and online counselling.
Kids Helpline is Australia’s free, confidential 24/7 online and phone counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.
Twenty10 is a Sydney-based service that provides a range a specialised services for young people aged 12-25, including mental health support, counselling and social support as well as telephone support and webchat for adults.
A national counselling support service for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping.
A Safe Haven is a place you can go if you’re feeling distressed or having suicidal thoughts. It is a safe place where you can talk openly about how you are feeling and what you’re going through. These Safe Havens will be based on, or near, hospital grounds, with suicide prevention staff and mental health clinicians on hand to offer emotional support and provide information on available services.
You can talk to peer-support workers or be connected to a mental health professional. If you don’t feel like chatting, you can spend time in a quiet space and listen to music. It’s free and you don’t need an appointment. There are 19 Safe Havens throughout NSW. Find your nearest Safe Haven.
