Snapshot findings: Evaluation of NSW End of Life and Palliative Care Framework

Summary

​NSW Health commissioned an independent process evaluation to assess the implementation of funding enhancements under the End-of-Life Palliative Care Framework 2019-2024.

The evaluation focussed on activities from February 2021 to December 2022.  Key findings include:

• enhancement activities were in progress or completed and palliative care services had improved and expanded
• increased access to specialist palliative care and expansion of a multidisciplinary palliative care workforce
• improved palliative care facilities and successful local service improvements to meet patient and community needs.
