End of Life and Palliative Care Research Grant Program

The End-of-Life and Palliative Care Research Grant Program aims to strengthen the evidence base for end of life and palliative care (EOLPC) in NSW. It supports collaborative, policy-relevant research that improves care, experience, and equity, especially for underserved populations and those receiving integrated care.

Assessment outcome

The assessment process is now complete. We thank all applicants for their strong proposals and the time and expertise taken to prepare applications. Successful grant recipients are listed on the NSW Government Grants and Funding website

Funding awarded

Approval has been received from the Minister for Health to award seven research grants ranging from approximately $136,000 to $590,000 over three years.

Grants awarded will fund a range of programs to improve equity, access, and quality in palliative care across NSW:

  • Improving medication access in remote, rural and regional areas
  • EOLPC for refugee communities
  • EOLPC for people with intellectual disability
  • Risk-based bereavement support
  • Navigating support for culturally and linguistically diverse patients
  • Training for Palliative Care Clinicians
  • Early identification of EOLPC patients

This was an open and competitive grants process, conducted in-line with the NSW Government Grants Administration Guide and MOH-OHMR guidance.​
