Postgraduate nursing and midwifery scholarships

Postgraduate scholarship applications are open from 17 February 2025 to 9 April 2025.

About the scholarships

Scholarships of up to $10,000 are offered to registered nurses and midwives who are studying a postgraduate course.

The scholarships help with educational expenses directly associated with postgraduate study. They are open to those working permanently in full- or part-time positions in the NSW Health. Casual employees may also be eligible.

The amount of the scholarship is based on the postgraduate qualification that you're studying:

Graduate Certificate: up to $6,000
Graduate Diploma: up to $8,000
Masters Program: up to $10,000

To be eligible for a postgraduate nursing and midwifery scholarship, you must:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
- working in NSW Health, at a local health district or specialty network as a registered nurse or midwife and employed on a permanent full/part-time or casual basis (at least 2 shifts per week)
- enrolled in an accredited Australian postgraduate program of study, leading to a qualification (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters)
- if applying for an entry to midwifery postgraduate scholarship you must be in or have a letter of offer for concurrent employment as a midwifery student with NSW Health
- not be in receipt of a scholarship from the Nursing and Midwifery Office in the last 5 years
- not be in receipt of another grant or scholarship for the same program of study.
