$415,000 to upgrade healthcare facilities in Brewarrina and Lightning Ridge

Brewarrina and Lightning Ridge will receive a $415,000 funding boost from the NSW Government to upgrade local health facilities.

The Minns Labor Government is investing a total of almost $12 million in 61 projects as part of the Regional Health Minor Works Program.

The Brewarrina and Lightning Ridge Multipurpose Services (MPS) will share a $245,000 allocation to improve security in and around key healthcare worker accommodation. Work at these sites will include installing CCTV, and improving fencing and external lighting.

This funding boost will help Western NSW Local Health District attract and retain staff at both Brewarrina and Lightning Ridge MPS’ by providing secure accommodation for staff close to work.

The Lightning Ridge MPS will also receive $170,000 to refurbish an outdoor area used by aged care residents to create a relaxed and comfortable environment using dementia design principles.
