Sadly, NSW Health is today reporting the deaths of nine people with COVID-19; five women and four men.
One person was aged in their 50s, two people were in their 60s, four people were in their 80s, and two people were in their 90s.
Of the people who died over the age of 65, five people had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and three people had received three doses. Older age is a significant risk factor for serious illness and death for COVID-19, particularly when combined with significant underlying health conditions.
A man in his 50s had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had significant underlying health conditions.
Two of the people who died with COVID-19 were from Western Sydney, two people were from southern Sydney, one person was from south western Sydney, one person was from Sydney's Inner West, two people were from the Northern Rivers and one person was from the Forster-Tuncurry area.
NSW Health expresses its sincere condolences to their loved ones.
