COVID-19 (Coronavirus) statistics

As at 8pm Sunday 24 May 2020, there has been three additional cases of COVID-19 diagnosed since 8pm 23 May, bringing the total number of cases to 3,090.

One new case was acquired overseas, in a returned traveller who is in a quarantine hotel. The other two new cases were locally acquired.

The school student mentioned as a possible case on Sunday has been excluded after further testing.

There were 4,276 people tested in the reporting period, compared with 6,809 people in the previous 24 hours.

Nearly 423,000 people have now been tested for COVID-19 in NSW.

NSW Health is once again urging anyone feeling unwell - even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat - to come forward and get tested, so cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible. Now is not the time to be complacent.

There are currently 90 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This includes one person being treated in an intensive care unit. They require a ventilator.

There are now 2,656 people in NSW who have recovered from COVID-19.

The Hills and Penrith LGAs have been removed as areas of increased testing and surveillance. There are currently no areas targeted for increased testing and surveillance.
