As at 8pm Saturday 16 May 2020, there has been one additional case of COVID-19 diagnosed since 8pm 15 May, bringing the total number of cases to 3,075.
There were 10,179 people tested in the reporting period, compared with 9,892 people in the previous 24 hours.
Nearly 366,000 people have now been tested for COVID-19 in NSW, which has one of the highest testing rates in the world.
NSW Health would like to thank those with symptoms for coming forward, getting tested and ensuring cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.
There have been no new cases associated with Anglicare Newmarch House, meaning the total of cases linked to the facility remains at 71 (37 residents and 34 staff).
There are currently 100 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This includes seven people being treated in intensive care units. Four of them require ventilators.
There are now 2,612 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in NSW.
NSW Health is urging people with symptoms, including mild symptoms, to be tested to ensure as many cases of COVID-19 in the community are identified as quickly as possible.
This is particularly important in the Penrith area to help identify cases and understand transmission. Other areas of focus include Canada Bay, Canterbury Bankstown and Cumberland Local Government Areas.
