COVID-19 (Coronavirus) statistics

As at 8pm, Saturday 25 April 2020, an additional eight cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed since 8pm 24 April, bringing the total to 3,002.

During that time, 5459 people were tested, compared to 4840 the 24 hours before.

There have now been 2,208 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in NSW.

There are currently 182 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. These include 19 people being treated in Intensive Care Units, with 15 of those requiring ventilators.

There has been one new death reported in the last 24 hours.

An 82-year-old male resident of Anglicare Newmarch House has died. This brings the total number of deaths linked to the facility to six.

An additional three residents and two staff at Newmarch House have tested positive, bringing the total number of cases to 53, including 34 residents and 19 staff.

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has confirmed a healthcare worker from Nepean Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19.

There is no ongoing risk to patients or staff and no impact on the hospital’s services.

NSW Health is urging people with symptoms, including mild symptoms, to be tested to ensure as many cases of COVID-19 in the community are identified as quickly as possible.

This is particularly important in the Blue Mountains LGA following a small number of locally acquired cases.

NSW Health is alerting passengers who were close contacts of cases on flights to monitor for symptoms, and contact their GP, (call ahead before visiting), or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222, or visit a NSW Health COVID-19/Flu assessment clinic should they become unwell.
