Value-based care

Value-based health care ensures safe and effective treatments, by delivering outcomes and experiences that matter to the people who receive them.

Measuring and evaluating the outcomes and experiences of all people, both delivering and receiving care, contributes to the decision-making processes for services and practices.

Principles of collaboration and co-design should be embedded in all interventions.

Areas of action:

  • monitor progress and identify opportunities for further improvement
  • work in partnerships to reduce inequalities
  • support the workforce to have relevant skills, knowledge and experience to deliver high-quality care.
