A nurse practitioner is an advanced practice nurse endorsed by the NMBA who has direct clinical contact and practises within their scope under the legislatively protected title ‘nurse practitioner’ under the National Law.
The Course will be hosted on the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) online learning platform from 26 November 2018. Select ‘enrol’ (or login if you are an ACRRM member) and you will be able to immediately access the course.

Existing individual practitioners in your centre are required to complete the course within the next 3 years, i.e.by 26 November 2021. All new practitioners seeking to provide yellow fever vaccination will need to complete the online module before they can prescribe yellow fever vaccination in your centre. Any change of details including change of individual practitioners must be notified to MOH-vaccreports@health.nsw.gov.au within 7 days using the change of details form.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres will be required to maintain a log of all practitioners prescribing the vaccine and evidence that they have successfully completed of the online Yellow Fever Vaccination Learning Module. NSW Health will receive a training log to monitor compliance against the new training requirements. You are not required to submit the certificates of completion to NSW Health.

Following accreditation you must only administer the vaccine at an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre (except in rare circumstances where it may be given in a hospital).
An enrolled/registered nurse can administer the vaccine under the delegation of the prescribing medical practitioner, and may complete and sign the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP).
