Under the Authority for Registered Nurses and Midwives, immunisation courses completed from 1 December 2021, must conform to the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals, have achieved accreditation by Health Education Services Australia (HESA) and be published on the list of approved courses on the HESA website.
As of June 2024, the immunisation courses listed below have been approved by HESA.
Registered nurse/midwife immuniser and Aboriginal Health Practitioner immunisers (excluding those requiring injection technique training) courses:

Whilst some of these courses can be completed by enrolled nurses, in NSW only a Registered Nurse or Midwife who has successfully completed one of these courses can work as an independent Authorised Nurse or Authorised Midwife Immuniser.
The NSW Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008 (clause 48A) authorises appropriately trained pharmacists in NSW to administer certain vaccines. Details of the vaccines and conditions for administration that must be complied with including training requirements are outlined in the NSW Pharmacist Vaccination Standards.
The NSW Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008 (clause 170 and 171 ) authorises appropriately trained Aboriginal health practitioners (AHP) in NSW to administer influenza vaccines to people aged 5 years and over. Details of the vaccines and conditions for administration that must be complied with including training requirements are outlined in the Authority for Authorised Aboriginal Health Practitioners and NSW Aboriginal Health Practitioners Vaccination Standards. Aboriginal health practitioners must have completed injection technique training through a provider as outlined in the NSW Aboriginal Health Practitioners Vaccination Standards or an immunisation course which includes injection technique and conforms to the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals, following accreditation by Health Education Services Australia (HESA).
As of June 2024, the immunisation courses listed below have been approved by NSW Health for AHPs wishing to become authorised Aboriginal health practitioner immunisers who require injection technique training.
