Fluoridation of drinking water

NSW Health supports fluoridation of drinking water as a safe and effective way to help prevent tooth decay in the community. This support is based on many years of reliable evidence and the ongoing support of the National Health and Medical Research Council.

NSW Health will continue to support councils and water utilities in fluoridation of water supplies, and encourages communities to support this important public health project.
