Transcript of What happens when you get your COVID-19 test results?
This video will talk about what happens when you get your COVID-19 test result.
What happens if my test is negative?
A negative test result is a good thing. It means that the test did not find COVID-19.
You should still stay home until you feel better.
You might need to get tested for COVID-19 at another time, if you feel sick with COVID-19 symptoms again.
Sometimes if you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 you might need to stay at home to make sure you don’t get sick. Even if you have a negative test result.
What happens if my test is positive?
A positive test result means that you have COVID-19.
If you get a positive test result, someone from the NSW Health Public Health Unit will call you.
They will ask you questions about your health and your symptoms, who you have seen lately, where you have been lately, what support you need.
The NSW Health Public Health Unit will tell you what do to next.
If you have a positive test result you will need to self-isolate This means that you don’t leave your home.
We have another video about what self-isolating means that you can watch.
