Outcomes for both multidrug-resistant (MDR) and non-MDR tuberculosis cases in NSW, 2022

​The majority of TB cases successfully completed TB treatment in 2022 (90%). The treatment outcome is unable to be assessed when people transfer overseas (3% of cases), and a small number of cases die from causes not related to TB while on treatment (4% of cases). ​

Contact investigation outcomes from TB pulmonary smear positive cases diagnosed in NSW, 2023

​There were 172​4 contacts identified in NSW in 2023 from TB pulmonary smear positive cases, 62% of those completed contact screening for TB.
