Application process for NSW Health facilities
NSW Health facility applications are to adhere to the Area of Need policy directive.
Public health facilities do not need to provide District of Workforce Shortage (DWS) or Distribution Priority Area (DPA) evidence. However, DPA or DWS status is necessary for Medicare billing. If not provided, the medical practitioner in an approved position may not be able to bill for Medicare items. This responsibility lies with the employer.
