NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
One new case was acquired overseas in the same period, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,379.
There were 12,669 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 14,691.
NSW Health administered its highest number of vaccines in one day with 12,485 COVID-19 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, including 5,185 at the vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park.
The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 1,065,018, with 339,048 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 725,970 administered by Commonwealth Government providers, including GPs, to 11:59pm on Thursday 20 May 2021.
NSW Health urges everyone in NSW to continue to take practical measures to stay COVID-safe, including practising good hand hygiene and always using QR codes to check in to and out of venues.
Anyone experiencing even the mildest of cold-like symptoms should come forward immediately for testing, then isolate until a negative result is received.

NSW Health is treating 50 COVID-19 cases, one of whom is in intensive care and being ventilated. Most cases (94 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.
