The State of Food and Nutrition in NSW Series has a new addition, highlighting the importance of increased consumption levels of a variety of vegetables and fruit at all levels of intake across NSW. It highlights those groups with the lowest intakes and who are hence at greatest risk of the many major chronic diseases linked to low consumption. Therefore, this report provides the health system and key stakeholders with considerable evidence to justify investment in this priority area at various levels to achieve long-term positive health outcomes and economic benefits.
