Tuberculosis in New South Wales - Surveillance Report 2022

Summary

Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial disease caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Globally TB remains a disease of public health significance with the World Health Organization (WHO) estimating 10.6 million cases in 2022.

Surveillance of TB in NSW is conducted under the NSW Public Health Act 2010.

The purpose of this report is to describe the epidemiology of TB in NSW in 2022.
