Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) covers an area of 247,000 square kilometres.
Barindji, Barrinbinja, Barundji, Gunu, Kamilaroi, Muruwari, Wailwan, Wiradjuri and Wongaibon peoples are the traditional owners of the land.
In 2021 the estimated population was 279,422 residents, and over the decade to 2031, the overall population is projected to increase to 286,410. Western NSW LHD has introduced many innovative approaches and programs in order to improve health services and health outcomes for people living in the LHD. This includes particular approaches regarding integrated care and building relationships and partnerships with other health providers to deliver coordinated care for patients and communities.
